Graduates from agriculture institutions are well-versed with local and international best practices and are equipped with the theoretical knowledge about the behaviour of crops. However, at present, they are not being afforded adequate opportunities to test their academic knowledge under the attendant practical constraints and exigencies that farmers face as they tend to crops and attempt to turn a profit.

Thus, these highly qualified individuals do not get the opportunity of practically implementing their academic research and developing a crucial set of skills required for becoming successful farm managers, leading to a dearth in the market of properly qualified agriculture practitioners.

Fidak’s Incubator

An incentive-based, on-field incubation programme has been developed by Fidak Farms, which is geared toward enabling graduates acquire practical experience and helping them in the acquisition of skills necessary for becoming proficient in commercial farm management. An ancillary benefit of the incubator is that it would help the young agricultural professional in establishing symbiotic relationships with local individuals engaged in different aspects of agricultural farming, resulting in effective transfer of knowledge at the grass-root level.
